i'm "closing the front gate" sorta speaking.
see, i don't have a front gate to my property, so i closed down the front of the house to make it look like no one is home.
i then hide out in the back yard and the back of the house.
i get in these moods to stay by myself often after having spent way too much time at the hospital working.
yes, i admit work totally drains every fiber and brain cell in this aging body of mine.
it is mostly dealing with people that drains me not necessarily the "work".
on my days off i like to hang out with my dogs and my garden.
walking around the yard checking out each and every plant.
seeing which plant may need an extra support stake or who will need to be watered today
my new plants that i planted at the beginning of the week are doing well,
they have established themselves nicely in the soil.
i believe the rain we had yesterday gave them that extra little boost.
picked a lot of this chard this morning for my watermelon, blueberry, yogurt, chard smoothie.
it was delish!
i love all the variety i can put into a smoothie...
using up fruit that is turning too fast and garden edibles that add just that extra punch of needed nutrition.
yes, closing the front gate and recharging at home fills my soul with contentment.
i spent the morning fluffing the nest inside and out.
cleaned out some drawers, put 2 loads of laundry on the beloved line, then sat on the back porch and dreamed of the day's possibilities.
yes today is my day to recharge!

There's nothing wrong with a little solitude.
Time alone feeds the soul. And your garden is awesome!
