HEXIE WEDNESDAY

Yup..... today is Hexie Wednesday, fast becoming one of my favorite days of the week.

.....and I have been busy finishing 3 hexie flowers this week and extra hexies waiting to become flowers for next week.

Am trying to get this sweater done for a special boy and it is the sweater that never ends.
Ever feel that way with a project?

The wind here in Colorado has been BLOWING HARD for 2 days now and I believe it is starting to wear on my sore head. Maybe a pumpkin latte will help so I am off to Star Bucks.
Will be checking in on everyone to see your flowers.
Happy Hump Day.

HOUSTON

I'm wondering how many Hexie friends and quilting friends are going to be in Houston in November?
If anyone would like to meet up for coffee? I will be there with friends and my sister. MM does not believe that internet friends are real. Can you believe that? So it would be fun to meet you in a living breathing body and to introduce you to my sister MM. She may need to touch your arm to see if you are real!

ONE FLOWER WEDNESDAY

I finished my hexie for today, sorry the photo is not the best.

I have had a very busy day teaching CPR at the hospital. Those Annie dummies are new and stiff so by the end of the day my hands are sore and tired. Makes sewing and knitting difficult. I am so grateful for the use of my hands to do the things I love.

Here is some of the pretties I bought last week-end at Connie's. Not sure how I will use them but I am sure the end product will be beautiful.

I have my triangle quilt on the machine for quilting and man-o-man this quilt is big for my Bernina. Took me a couple of hours to get this quilt "adjusted" so I could manage some fine quilting that satisfied me.
Hope to get some quilting in before bedtime. Until later have a wonderful evening.

SATURDAY

Today has been a beautiful Fall day in Colorado. Our leaves are just beginning to turn, we do not get the bright reds and oranges that the east will see. Though our gold looks very rich and satisfying to me.

I am working on a Fan quilt using up some old fat quarters I found in the sewing room. I'm really liking how it came together. I used a ruler made just for the fan block and boy is it EASY!!!!! All the different rulers that are out on the market have my attention. They do so many cool things, not to mention making quilt blocks so easy and fast. I can just keep running fabric through my machine....so relaxing for me to hear that machine running.

Next Friday I am thinking of doing this.

I bought some fun fabrics at a sale today at Connie's. I will have pictures on the next post. Have a wonderful weekend and see you soon.

CHARM PACK QUILT CLASS and ONE FLOWER WEDNESDAY

On Monday I taught the "Charm Pack Quilt" class in my home and we had a BLAST!!!!

This pattern I made up as I sewed along and wanted to share with friends.
Their were some very experience quilters and some that had never used a rotary cutter.

Had 4 of these beauties humming along. A very relaxing sound to hear a Featherweight machine chugging along. You can't make them fly, they go one speed..... slow.

My 2 hexagon flower for One Flower Wednesday. It has been a long time since I have hand pieced a quilt and I forgot how much I love this slow process. Gives me time to enjoy the fabric and do a lot of thinking. I love doing things the "old" way, using featherweight machines and hand piecing. I feel connected with quilters from long ago who made their quilts to be remembered.
I"m remembering Ladies.

CIRCLES, SQUARES and TRIANGLES

Remember these blocks from here?
Well they grew into this really fun quilt that ended up with a few circles, squares and all made from triangles. I am enjoying playing with all the different rulers I own and the different quilts I can make using them.

Sorry about the shadows in the picture but the darn tree just insisted being part of the picture!
I am going to quilt this with lots and lots of diagonal lines and the outside border with circles. Well at least that is the plan tonight.
