The winds have been out of control here in Colorado. The back fence blew down...again. This is not our fence but Honey will fix it . Need to keep the puppies in one yard.....OURS!

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Spring is trying to burst forth, but the wind in front is causing us problems.

Will be spending the weekend fixing fence much to the puppies dismay. They had a whole new world open to them,{they met a BIG cat } am not sure if they like the cat or afraid of the cat.

The cat lives behind us.

April brings the Food Drive to the hospital and I was informed by my boss I would be making bread for the annual Bake Sale! 

I love making bread and I enjoy baking for the Bake Sale, this year however I work the day before the sale which means I will be baking late into the evening.....AND it is my BIRTHDAY!!!!!!

So much for a FUN/ME day. 

I guess I will celebrate the following day. The first 16 years of my life were celebrated on the "following day" because my Mother wrote the wrong date in the family bible.

Needed a passport when I was 16 , which means a birth certificate and I cried out: "MOM"

She apologised and said it was a "busy time when I was born". 

It was Easter Sunday morning and my Dad was graduating from Law school and I was the 4th child, {7 more to come over the years}.

So long story short I guess my birthday this year will be celebrated on the "other day".

But today I am SEWING!!!!!

Visiting an Alpaca Farm in Severence

This women and her husband want to start an alpaca farm with in the next couple of years.

The weekend was action packed with food, knitting more food and beverages, My Sister Knits, walks and more beverages, food, spinning, alpaca farm, indoor co-op market, coffee [lots of coffee], more food and finally 3 movies and a little X-Files. 

Today we take this one back to the airport.........and everyone returns to our real working lives. Looking forward to Sister's Week-end next year!!!

I AM A HAPPY CAMPER

Yes sir it came to me today. I have watched this puppy travel from China to my front door ! I was on the steps with pen in hand to sign for my baby. She is a beaut and oh so fast compared to her older sister. My heart is happy.

A perfect day to get an Fed Ex box and a bonus to see the crocuses up in the yard!

Yes my favorite laptop is on the blink so I can not post pictures at least not new pictures! Hopefully this month I can put in a new hard drive and more ram. I think those are the names of things I need in my computer? I am a sewer not a computer person !

Have been busy and much to show for all the time spent with needle in hand.

PRETTY

Last week I spent most of my free time helping a co-worker get her 3 month old baby to take a bottle. And what fun I had!!!!!! 

 Who can't LOVE holding a beautiful baby that smiles and talks.

3rd. day. Pretty needed remedial bottle training. She decided that at home she would only be fed by Mom. She looks so innocent and sweet.  

Worked on me, my heart was mush.

This little girl won me over hook line and sinker. 

{ I was secretly hoping Pretty would have to move in with me till she was on solid food. The puppies would of cared for her when I was work. They wanted to know where the squeaker was in her and kiss her non-stop}

I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday.

TIMES REALLY DO NOT CHANGE THAT MUCH

This is Lake Shore Drive in 1967.  What a mess, all these cars caught on the Drive due to blowing and drifting snow.

This is the  Drive February 1, 2011. Look familiar, yup 44 years later same problem Cars stuck on  Lake Shore Drive in another Chicago blizzard. The more things change the more they look familiar to me!

I remember walking with my father and siblings to the store several days after the 1967 storm passed. We children had a GREAT time! Chicago was shut down for days and days. {check out Dad's boots}I , one had to be of hardy stock in 60's , No fleece lined boots back then. I bet he even had plastic bags wrapped around his shoes to keep his feet dry.
This is not  my family, though I remember my Dad hauling at least five of us 10 children on a 3-4 mile hike to the store up on Devon Ave.


All you Chicago kids enjoy the snow in the coming days. My older brother even jumped off the roof of my Aunt's house. I thought he was so brave ! Me, no I did not jump off any roofs, I am afraid of heights!
