HOBBIES

The first, started and finish during COVID19

Scrap quilt using scraps most sane quilters would toss out...not me!

Eric's flying tying in full swing. He is making a few dozen for a friend.

Easter snow.

Anyone need some blue food dye? Oye Vey!

Amish quilt hand quilting.

Snow clouds building in over the Rockies, expecting 4-9 inches tonight and through tomorrow. We will see.

How has your week been? I feel calmer this week, getting out walking is soo helpful. Also, coming to terms and stop fighting-what I have no control over is helpful. Sometimes it is difficult to work out what I can control and what I cannot control, and lets face it, we really have so little control  in this world. The control I have, is how I react to situations that is thrown in my path.

I have been thinking a lot about when this 'stay at home' and life returns to normal, (whatever that looks like), what things have been removed from my daily life and what things I want to bring back. I have moments of feeling this isolation thing is a real gift (not the part of sickness and financial instability), but the gift of slowing the outside world down!  What else but a virus could do this and who ever thought in their life time this could happen?
Not me!
I want positive lessons to be learned from this situation.
We all have time to ponder :
what is good in our lives
what to not let back into our lives
what to let in occasionally
what to change personally
what to work toward.

You?

I LOVE all your photos, and your thoughts, too. There are times when this whole thing doesn't feel a lot different than my "normal" life, but there are times when it's very different (gearing up to go to the grocery store, bare shelves, and the ever-present fear and anxiety). I think that's what I'd like to go away - the fear of illness and financial hardship, for me, my family, and all we hold dear. Stay well and I hope you don' get too much snow!

I too love all your photos! And your making is putting me to shame! (and I am with you, there are good days, some so-so days, and some WTAF days (okay maybe lots of those! lol)

Thanks for joining us today!

Look at all your making. I hang onto most of my scraps also. There is something about the parameters of using scraps that spurs my creativity. It also releases me from feeling like I have to be so careful not to make a mistake with precious materials. We had snow flurries in eastern Ne. on Easter. The weather is a little crazy everywhere this spring. This time feels so eerie - normal inside my house one minute and surreal at the grocery store in a mask seeing bare shelves.

good old covid making our projects come alive. I cannot wait to see my kids, that's all I want. I doubt I will be eager to go to a restaurant right when they reopen since I am a hypochondriac at heart. Love how productive you are and I hope our lives get back to normal sooner than later.

This was a calmer week for me too. I am settling in to the current rhythms and find myself really paying attention to the things that are bringing joy. I hope I will hold on to this practice when life begins to shift back.

I love all your projects, so beautiful! I was thinking I should make a small quilt from my mask making leftovers, it would be so much fun. Love your thoughts on the virus, I am still not able to slow down and just be. I Listened to a podcast talking about slowing down, going within and really focusing on yourself, ha, I almost spit out my tea in my car when I heard this. I have not had the opportunity to do that as many can't, but still it is a lovely calming thought. Stay well.
