YELLOWSTONE....

We have just returned from spending 2 weeks in Yellowstone! What a wonderful time we had this year. Eric fished of course and I knitted and spun some yarn. We read books, ( I finished 4), Eric  got me hooked on crossword puzzles too. But the best part of our stay was the hiking we did! First time I have been hiking in 20+ years and I can say hiking with an adult is much easier than hiking with young children who after the first two steps want to know " how much longer"?  I must admit though, on our last hike which was rated "Easy", ( easy apparently meant only the mile section on the board walk, not the climb to the falls), I thought I was going to pop a lung and a few heart chambers. I honestly was not sure if I could get off the mountain on my own, having visions of helicopters...ugh.
But, I did it and it was so worth that climb!
Yellowstone and the Tetons were burning this year. Sad to see but know it's all part of the circle of life. The flowers on the forest floor next year, ( reservations already made) will be BEAUTIFUL!

Being home is great because I don't feel rushed to get LOTS of things done before returning to work.
Oh yeah, that's because I don't work anymore- I'm retired. I now have 2-3 days to get all the laundry done and put away.  What a great vacation, one that just keeps giving and going on!

I do have lots of plans for dying yarn over the next several months.
So stay tuned!
