YARN ALONG 50/365

I was a little bored this past weekend, sooooo…..I casted on for Baby Vertebrae, in Quince fingering RED. Easy knit and great pattern! not sure I understand the purpose of this design since babies are not be put on their abdomen, but it is so very popular on Ravelry I decided to go for it.
It’s been back to work this week so not getting that much knitting done during the week
but-
I am reading a fairly interesting book.
Still Life
by Louise Penny.
It’s a mystery up in Canada, with a big European slant.
They have such “nice murders”, everyone is so polite and helpful-including the murderer.

The last of the Christmas dishes cleaned and put away till next year. Kinda sad that these special Fritz and Floyd Christmas dishes only get used once a year, but thank goodness that Christmas is only once a year. I am always exhausted after Christmas celebrations..feel kinda drugged from all the food and cheer. So I relaxed most of the weekend eating a few of these “rabbits royale”-a fancy name for cherry bon bons.  Very grown-up taste to these, ?infused with alcohol?
I need to find a great winter book to loose myself in! I stopped at the library yesterday and checked out several…maybe one, just one will fill my reading need! I hope so.

Have a peaceful last Monday of 2015.

I’m sending this man a Christmas Card…that is all he asked for, for the amazing Christmas display he puts up every year!

This morning on the way to MOM [pies and coffee] for some Chai and knitting with Jill. We meet here on Sunday mornings….gets my week off to a good start.

I picked up a 2016 planner, something I never do…plan I mean!
I thought why not try to loosely put down some reminders that I would like to work on during 2016.
Are you a New Year resolution type person, plan out your year?
Would love to hear ideas and thoughts on your plans for the following year.
I’m going to be sharing mine!

365 YARN ALONG

42/43/44/365

Greeting on the EVE of the EVE of Christmas Day.
Wishing all a peaceful, content day and season.
I wish I could say I have been in the holiday mood, but it hasn’t happened for me yet. We don’t even have a tree up and…nope we aren’t putting one up this year. Any decorations that are displayed are there because-well….they were not put away from last year! yes, the wheels have come off the holiday external display of Christmas Spirit. I blame it on that the “Christmas Story” is not playing everyday-all day!

I did however do some gift knitting last Sunday,
COWLS.
Using bulky yarn-WOW are these fast knits!

Enjoy your Holidays.
I know we will, I have dinner for 12-14 to pull together and is not Christmas really about spending time with family and friends! Oh, and lots of great food! Now that I have covered.

I have been taking a picture or two a day, just haven’t been posting them daily.
It’s a busy time of year! I seem not to have the camera near my computer or the computer any where near the camera card to down load. So here is a catch up day, to be sure their will be many more catch up days…it’s LIFE!

37/365 YARN ALONG

It’s so dark and grey outside I can’t get a decent picture of anything today! So here is something I have been working on for awhile. An Irish scarf. Many mistakes- but still looking good.

Oh, and the snow stopped. Yesterday I had visions of scenes from the

It was a blizzard today! I left home at 5:10 and got to work at 6:15, its only about 10 miles down the road. The wind was blowing so hard and the SNOW…I couldn’t see past the hood of the truck. Yes, I took the truck, 4 wheel drive and sitting up high. It took my husband 4 hours to get to work, he has 60 miles to drive! That wind, oh my gosh, on the way home the first thing I noticed was that their was little to no snow in the big fields! Over 11 inches fell and the wind blew it off all the fields…the snow banks were HIGH!
Stay warm!

Strange Sunday morning, the air was thick pea soup and so cold ice was suspending mid air.
Beautiful but eerie!
Hope your weekend was everything you needed.

31/365 YARN ALONG

A Sweet in Threes little vest knitted and gifted for a beautiful 1year. And I got the buttons on [ the day of the party] to complete the little project.
This is such a lovely easy/fast knit that is so versatile to wear on any child.
I love  how the red buttons “pop” this vest adding endless options pairing the vest to outfits.

What are you knitting?

26/365 HOME

One more hospital to visit today then I am heading home…
Glory, Joy, Excited!!!!
I am tired! Does anyone really sleep well in unfamiliar sleeping arrangements?
I did get 10 rows done on my scrappy 2 inch quilt. Little Featherweight, she is a dream to sew on and travel with…we have bonded, we have.
On a sad note-Oh America, when are we going to put down the guns and settle our difference
in a civil manner. Another mass shooting, more heartbreak. All in my prayers.

25/365 YARN ALONG

Wednesday, hump day, half way through the workweek….
But best of all YARN ALONG day! I’m out of town this week and have spent 8-9 hours at work-training for my next adventure, but, when I return to the hotel ,I turn on an English murder mystery-[they are so polite and calm when murdering their fellow man, I’m never scared watching an English murder mystery], fire up my Featherweight sewing machine,[ I brought 2 with me, just in case one was not working] and spend the evening sewing 2 inch squares together…nirvana!
I was invited to a scrapbooking gathering tonight but I said I am really enjoying my time sewing in the hotel. I wonder what house keeping thinks seeing my machine and ironing setup each morning? I drape my rows over the machine so they can see progress; I sure hope it puts a smile on their faces.
I thought I would get more knitting done, but so far I have only completed a few rows each day on my wrist warmers, and Christmas is coming on fast. Handmade gifts will be slim this year, but several handmade items were passed out during the year! Some years are like that.
How is your week going? What have you been working on?
