BLANKETS

That is what has been on my mind and running through my fingers.

I started this blanket just before vacation.
On our long car drive I knitted and knitted.

I love knitting mindless things while driving.
I must confess I spend a lot of time looking out the window.

When I returned home I spent time machine quilting

Machine quilting has been a huge learning curve for me

But each time I see improvement

Then I get excited to do the next quilt.

I will continue quilting with my machine as long as I always see improvement

Love Red and White

And I love feathers!!!!!!!

I HAVE BEEN AND SEEN

Yellowstone Nat. Park.
We love hitching up our trailer and going to the park. It is always so peaceful and beautiful!!!
New pine trees growing after the fire in 1988

These two were at Old Faithful just hanging out.
They are HUGE animals!!

I was also in Cody Wyoming and visited { spent an entire day} at the Cody Museum.
Wonderful, Wonderful !!
A bed made of quilts with traditional beading blankets in an Indian home on a reservation.

I was not aware that the Northern Indians used the Star Quilt in ceremonies.
I love how they used light points to give the impression of eagle wings.

Loved this CALICO outfit. The picture does not show the color as well but it is a beautiful medium blue skirt with a powder blue shirt.
I can just imagine these calicos being used in a quilt when it would no longer serve as an outfit.
I wish long skirts would come back into fashion!

I have been reading!!!!
I can read a GOOD book in an evening { all right nothing else gets done, no dinner, no walking the dogs, you get the idea} but a good book needs to be read from start to finish.
If you want to laugh out loud read David Sedaris.
I giggle just thinking about it, and to think I almost didn't read it because it had a creepy skeleton on the cover!!!
{NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER}

I am in the land that casts looonnng shadows.

Lots of log resting

Spending some needed time with my favorite guy.

Hudso1

And surfing the internet.
Found this fun Halloween pattern for free from barij. Check it out, I think I may some stitchers who would enjoy the pattern.

I love rag rugs and using what I have to make this honey.
This one of the projects I have been working on while hiding out here
with these two cuties

Watching this for my eye candy

Can't get much better!!!!

PEAKS and VALLEYS

LIFE’S PEAKS and VALLEYS

It amazing to me sometimes how natural the flow of life can be. We always want to be on the peaks and yet we know that there are some valleys to travel through.
Well I feel as I am emerging from a valley and looking forward to some long peaks.

It is also revealing that no matter if we are in a valley or on top of the world, the sun always comes up in the morning and we are given another new start!

The flowers bloom and it is hard not to smile at their beauty

The long awaited tomatoes are ripening

and laundry always needs to done!

hope today is a peak day for you all!!!

BIRTHDAYS and FAMILY

BIRTHDAYS around here is all about FAMILY and FOOD.

My baby turned 22
And we BBQ: brats, burgers and corn.

But the BEST is always the hor dourves

And of course the GIFTS

Nothing better than opening BIG boxes

Showing everyone the surprise in the package.

Putting up with jokes

We love second hand gifts.
Gifts that add to the kitchen collection.

Bouncing Balls to remember the times long ago.

Another treasure

For all those baked treats in the coming years.
